hi just been out to play ......and noticed that wen i flashed my head lights the batt light came on as well as the petrol light and temp light came on and the trip /clock and rev counter went off them after a sec or 2 it went fine .... could this be a sign of the batt or alt on its way out ......the bike starts up fine even after 2 weeks of not being used thanks baz

It sounds more like an earthing fault caused by a poor connection somewhere rather than a duff battery.
Check for corroded contacts in the connectors in the housing under the tank.
