Help
« on: 08 May 2012, 11:26:10 am »
Guys I am in need of some help. I have a FZS600 which will shortly be going. Got the option of an 05 FZS1000 fazer or a FZ1 but can't make my mind up on which one to choose  :'(

Ride both beforehand. Or find a gen 1 and gen 2 in a dealers and test ride them.
I found them very diff and I prefer the power delivery and comfort of the gen 1 but the looks and handling of the gen 2.
I went with gen 1 as it worked for what I needed from a bike.

What sort of MPG are you getting from the thou as 2 up touring is my sole reason for upgrading the 600 so would like a decent return

Gen 1 definitely........gen 2 fugly! :lol   Can't give you mpg figures as I ride the bike for fun, not to keep a constant track of what my fule consumption is (do that way too much in the car)

as above; try both and take your pillion when you try them.

If you're going for 2up riding then i'd say go for the gen1..possibly a wee bit more comfy for the pillion. I mean, look at the pillion pad on that Gen 2!

eeeeh it'd be like sitting on a razor blade

p.s mpg's I cant quite remember what we were getting on my Gen 1 at the time but I know it was very good

if its for two up touring then the old man gen 1. better mpg /tank range and better pillion comfort but they do look like an old timing persons motorbike :lol

gen1 as much more comfy for two up touring and better mpg,
:evil I mean the Gen 2 is a bike for rossi wannabes and blokes that are having a mid life crisis  and have decided they want a bike to look cool   :lol
