Have a look at the yamaha workshop manual in the downloads section for the 100% definitive answer but I believe they are identical apart from the main jet size which is so close, it was probably just changed for manufacturing reasons.

All parts in and complete carbs are interchangeable between the fox and box models.

Carbs are the same, all jets sizes are the same.
The main difference is in the float height with the 2000 - 2003 models set to have the fuel level 1mm lower.
The 2002-2003 have a different the pilot screw which is set to 2.5 turns out whereas the 1998 to 2001 are set to 2 turns out.

I know this is an old post, does anyone know which way to adjust the pilot screws to lean out the tick over.
The reason I'm asking is I have fitted a jet kit with bigger pilot jets and it stinks on tick over, smells like to much fuel.

Safest way would be to do as mentioned above, screw them in all the way clockwise, then 2.5 turns out anticlockwise. At least you'll know that they're equal then.

Turn out more fuel  (Anticlockwise).
Turn in less fuel (Clockwise)
Was there not an option to increased the air jet to cater for the increase in pilot jet size.
Are all the O rings intact and the needle set to the correct height.

Hi unfazed,
I will set the screws to 2 turns to see if it makes it better, I don't want to fit pod filters.

Why 2 turns, when your bike is 2.5 turns?
