It was a good engine, but frame design was iffy, clocked 175mph on the straight (in 1977) and ran high up in its debut endurance race until the Universal joint on the shaft drive broke.
The location of the swinging arm pivot was totally wrong and it was putting huge strain on the UV joint, it finally broke. Rules changed to 4 cylinder make and the project was abandoned. The project did put a huge strain on their resources and the advanced Japanese 4 cylinders that finally nailed its coffin in 1985.

Brand is now owned by Piaggio

They are probably there so you can adjust your hair when you park up.  Or just for glancing at now and again whilst riding, just so you can check how cool you look on the bike.

Bet that sounds ace. I was wondering if it was built for  someone like Pedrosa, as you'd have to be a midget to ride it comfortably. Very nice to look at though. :)

CB550 by Cardsharper Customs. Being old school I can't really get my head around theTourance on the front, but I know that a blocky front tyre is necessary to appeal to hipsters.

That’s reasonably cool overall, and yeah, I know what you mean about the tyres, but what is worse than that is the tyre paint.  Tyre paint is not cool.

I take my hat off to the skill that goes into making these specials, but nearly every single one just looks like the previous to me :\ .

The basic requirement seems to be the 'stripped down' look and there's only so many ways you can take everything away and keep a bike looking individual?

Isn't the exposed front sprocket against some kind of law, that's not going to end well with my flares.  :lol
And I'm going to burn my legs in the summer on that exhaust when I have my shorts on.

I thought it was just me. Only rarely has any of the pictured machines touched me, but as a craftsman myself I can really admire the skills reqd to bring them about.
