Scissor stands. Anyone have experience with one

My thoughts would be: How much is the stand worth? How much is your bike worth? Is it going to be a good investment to put one on top of the other...?!

Hi mids.....most of the stands on the link are either for MX bikes or for use on hydraulic bike workbenches , too narrow to use on thier own and the MX type wont work with the fazers exhaust fitted......nr 20 , imo, is probably the best of the bunch (wider base , more stability )but you will still have to remove the exhaust........

You'd be better off with a bottle jack and a thick piece of wood,or just buy an ABBA stand.

I doubt youd be able to lift 500kg with that poxy little handle. Out comes the scaffold tube. Seriously, no. Not well balanced at all, and youve got to be sure that the bike frame will rest in the cups

I'm not sure that site is particularly credible!

Look at the front page and every review reads:

I didn't realise you were talking about these stands 'till I clicked on the link! they seem really cheap for lifting 500 kgs don't they? not sure about those

Lift a motorcycle on one of these stupid looking things its got to be a joke in itself, you would have to find the perfect balance point, and then whatever you do do not take the front wheel out, or the rear one come to that.
