I understood you had to take the bike OFF the centre stand, with it on its wheels only, to measure the oil level through the sight glass.
On it's centre stand (for us lucky Fazer owners) its tilted a little backward, on its back wheel.

Theres something wrong with your bike then, by default, the front wheel is on the ground when on the mainstand with the rear in the air.

On level ground even with my large top box half full, which hangs totally past the rear of the bike, it will always rest on the front tyre on the centre stand.

As long as the bike doesn't develop a leak i'm quite content in putting 2.8 litres of oil in, with a new filter, and it does the trick without any need for a top up between changes (4000 miles for me).
