At a quick glance how can you tell if you have ivanised carbs?

Pop the carb top off and pull the slide out and check needle.

I believe the springs are cut down which is another way to identify it.

Both correct, although clipping springs isn't specific to Ivan's kits. :)

Stock needles are single taper and are stamped SD-129 or SD-130 around the top.

Thanks, Mike you did mine years ago a banbury just was hoping for a quick check, got another fazer and it has an ivans sticker but gues i gotta have a look in to see if it been done, you dont keep reg numbers of the ones you've done do you?

Sadly, no on the reg numbers.  Never thought I would do that many when I started ... ;)
