a different kind of EXUP problem

The mighty thou has had a bit of a lumpy tickover recently , iam planning to ride down to poole bike night this evening so with that in mind I got up early with the intention of balancing the carbs , started the bike up to get it up to temperature and I get the 7000 rpm code , exup , not serviced for I while so I strip it down to find the cable holding /guide bracket has rusted through   


managed to weld It up  although not the best job it has made the bike useable , anyone else had this problem or is it my lazy maintenance

Mine was worse than that. At least you had something to weld to.
Given the exposed position it's not really surprising that they rot.

Yep mine was in 2 bits. Fing hard to find one, new were out of stock. Also cam wheel had rusted away, new one was from Fowlers. And cable was fooked so made new.
