Hi Mitch,
I don't own the 1K Fazer but it's little sister the FZS 600.


Looking at your pictures and explanation I think you have highlighted a problem and a solution.


Good hit mate, I'm sure lots in here will be doing your mod on their 1K Fazers and giving themselves to a more smooth running and trouble free Exup valve mechanism.
Sound advice, and you can not argue with the tide mark  :thumbup

If I ever find a replacement EXUP valve I'll be sure to drill a drain hole in the cover.

I don't have the corrosion on mine, but it's only on the ss for an hour tops, any longer and its main stand all the way.

Seems to me even if you don't use the side stand it is still a simple and sensible mod to do, belt and braces was the term that used to be used.
