Question about the radiator fan
« on: 20 June 2017, 12:03:26 pm »
I went to a shop this morning to talk to someone there about another problem I'm having and one of the guys mentioned that when I turned the ignition on the temp display said High but the fan didn't start working. So my question is, since I can't seem to find this info in the service/owner's manual, when does the fan exactly kick in?

If the bike isn't actually hot, then it's probably not a temperature issue.

I had something similar and it was actually caused by the Battery Voltage Dropping

Does your bike have ABS and, if so, does the ABS light flash when you try to start it? If so, it may be the same issue.

Another possibility I've heard of is that it's actually an issue with the immobiliser due to corroded/ broken wires.

If it's the same as the Fz1 then the fan kicks in at 100 degrees

Yeah, seems the bike wasn't hot enough, it kicked in when it reached about 100-101C.
