The mudguard/numberplate has always,to my mind, been the section to spoil the look of a bike. Even back in the 60's building cafe racers,the numberplate/rear light would usually be a lashup, to be done properly later on, but "later on" never happened.Personally I'd rather chop the back end to within an inch of its life,then fit the smallest numberplate you think you'd get away with.Not from the point of trying to fool speed cameras, but having a numberplate the size of a plasterers hawk just looks crap.
