I’m pretty confident that they don’t advise cruising at 50mph on a motorway in 2nd gear!

Next you’ll be lecturing me on push pull steering and not trail braking into corners. :z

I never advocated cruising in 2nd.

Trail breaking before corners is fine  :D Try reading Roadcraft. It might help. Either that, or just write your own book.

I'm sure I'd be causing more pollution doing 50 in second gear than 70 in sixth
:rolleyes

No mention of the word 'cruising'. Most appropriate gear, not always 6th.

Anyway, no wonder you trail brake in corners if you're going round them at  50 in 6th all the time  :rolleyes

Just that is what we were discussing, that’s all.  Whatever gear you fancy bud.

You know what, I’m struggling to think of any time ever trail braked on a motorway. :eek

Whilst schools and universities where the infection spreads like blight through a potato field remain open?.

Nope, don't think you'll find a bookie anywhere that'd be daft enough to offer odds on that one.
It will last until the week before Christmas, declared a success by the Gov science stooges so that everything can be allowed to open. The conservatives do not want to be for ever stuck with the label -- the party that cancelled Christmas.

Just got back from Asda and it was wasn't busy and did not see any evidence of panic buying, plenty of everything on the shelves.

Wickes today for some lightbulbs. Queue out of the door. Builders filling their vans with enough materials to see them through the next 4 weeks. Van suspension in serious trouble! Reminded me of the old Calais booze runs  :)

My local Wickes, no turps or white spirit, also no brilliant white Dulux satinwood paint. The paint section looked quite sparse of stock in general.

I have a regular weekly delivery slot from Asda on Tuesdays mornings.

Today I get an e-mail from them saying that they don't apply over Xmas and the New Year, so I spent ages trying to get into their delivery booking system to put in an order and check it out just to make sure we'd have food over the holiday period!

Hilarious.

My girlfriend has severe asthma. She was one of the ones who had to Shield during the first lockdown.

I've seen her in hospital on an oxygen mask twice in the past, because her asthma has flared up so badly she could barely breathe.

There are too many idiots out there who won't wear masks or think that they don't have to cover their noses or refuse to socially distance etc etc etc for me to want to risk going shopping in Asda and contracting the Virus and then, somehow, having to work out how to stay away from her for a fortnight (at least) in the SAME FOCCING HOUSE!

Yes, dazza, really FOCCING HILARIOUS.

My butcher has just posted on social media that due to the lockdown in England and a massive surge in orders that there may be delays and some shortages over the next week or so!

Oh oh.  Decorating my living room this week.  Off to buy paint for the walls this afternoon.  Always hate picking the colour, never sure if I’ll get it right.  But no issues up here so far, but then a big surge in purchases in England could affect stocks across the UK.

I always use Dulux or Crown Trade Gloss and Trade undercoat if required.  Hard work, and it absolutely stinks but great finish.
