Tank removal

is there an easy way to remove the tank (2003 fzs600)


Need to drain fuel and refil with new stuff and possible replace plugs at same time..

Undo the screw at the front. Loosen the screw at the back. Lift the tank up at the front (30degrees ish). Wedge something under it, or hold it there while you reach underneath, turn the fuel tap off and disconnected the pipe from the tap. Disconnect the small wiring block (fuel gauge sender) which should be attached to the frame cross member next to the fuel pipe, Remove the screw from the back of the tank and lift off the bike.

May i ask why you need to drain the fuel?
Even if you do, you can just tilt the tank up like a tipper lorry, and drain it by removing the fuel pipe and guiding it into a container.
No need to do certain stuff if not necessary, ie: plugs last a very long time on a bike.

gday just thort i would say that there is such thing as a tank prop, for these bad boys. also 1be2 be 18  inches piece of wood.

Cheers guys, got the tank off, new plugs new oil & Filter, air filter looked new plugs were rusted to bits, but came out easy, luckily.

Reason for draining the fuel is the bike hasn't moved much for 3 years as previous owner couldn't pass bike test ..

Hence why it's got 6k and it's a 2003
