chain slack
« on: 16 February 2017, 04:01:40 pm »
Hi ,just got back from  having  the fazer mot. The tester said  the chain was losse, and it is.The hand book says 45-55mm of play but I am sure some where  on this site I read that it is best to have the chain a bit slacker than the hand book says,  or was this some thing that I have mistaken?

Think I read somewhere that the chain should just touch the black plastic swing arm  protector on the underside of the swing arm.

The FAQ at the top of this section is a good place to look for information like this  ;)

Tester gave my FZS600 an advisory for a bent clutch lever last year.

This year when I asked why he didn't give it an advisory (same garage same bloke) he turned around and denied it the lying bastard. Then went on to tell me it's a dog leg clutch lever.

Who cares so long as it passes.
