Heading to France?
« on: 01 February 2017, 10:51:42 pm »
Not sure if it's been covered here but I understand from another forum that vehicles, including bikes, will shortly require an emissions sticker for entry to Paris Lyon and Grenoble! Not got all the details but RAC website assists.
Just a heads up for those traveling abroad 😊

You can order your stickers here

https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/en/

In typical French fashion, only parts of the website have been translated properly.

Other cities on the list include Rouen which everyone heading down to Brittany etc from Calais will go through unless they divert via Paris.

How's does that work on your full montey gen 1s or our decat piped, ais removed gen 2s?  Surely they have a lot higher emissions than it says on the paperwork?

:agree but you go by the reg doc.

The downside to this which nobody has mentioned is that you have to give a copy of the V5 to the French government as part of the application process. Hence forth, when you set off a speed camera in France, they now know where to send the fines to.

So, the French police will have to actually pull you over if you are in one of these cities to check you have a sticker? I think I'll risk it and not bother registering, I always go around Paris on the A104/N104 and I rarely go through Rouen.

They even state where the sticker should be put so their cameras can see it :)

Not sure how far out of Paris/Rouen/Le Havre etc the pollution zones go or if specific routes through such as the main drag from the ferry in Le Havre to the motorway or the A28 through Rouen are exempt as transit routes.
I have ordered one for my car as that's whats over there most often but wont bother with the van, motorbikes or the Mrs car for now.
