RHS Switching Gear Locating tab...
« on: 10 September 2016, 09:04:12 pm »
Anyone had success at fixing the "locating" tab on the Right Handlebar Switch cluster, that also has the throttle cables

Just removed mine to remove the throttle cables to get carbs out and its cracked and fell off, can only see units with no light switches on ebay, i may have to transfer things around if i buy one, but strange i can see not many with the right configuration..

i had this on another bike (triumph)
i drilled a small hole where the tab was and screwed in a small self tapper but left the head stuck out so it went into the handlebar hole.
or you could wind some tape onto the bar so it grips tighter

Last time I had that issue, I drilled a small hole carefully in its place in the switch gear (5 to 6mm deep), glued a cut down steel nail which fitted the hole in the bars (10 to 12mm long) into the hole. Sorted  :thumbup

:agree

I have in the past just packed the bars with tape to make the switch gear clamp down harder.
