This thread is for those who want to discuss the good and bad points of personal cameras on the road and if they are a good, bad, necessary or irrelevant.
Getting back to the original topic of this thread and away from the childish pettiness...
Personally, I don't use a helmet camera and wouldn't use one for these purposes.
I did try out a couple of cheap ones some years ago, but the aim there was to improve my riding by recording what I'd done and then reviewing it later to see if I could have improved my observation or positioning etc, unfortunately they were both crap and I gave up on them because they never worked properly.
I can understand why some people want to use them, especially if they're riding in a high-risk environment (eg lots of commuting) where there's a much greater than normal danger of being in an accident and where there could be disputes about liability, however I prefer to simply ride defensively and do my best to ensure I'm not on a bit of road which someone else is going to try to occupy since, as I keep saying: There's no point in thinking "I was in the right!" as you're flying through the air, because it won't make it hurt any less when you hit the ground.
I can't say I agree with posting "holier than thou" videos of other people's mistakes or bad driving etc because that just leads to the sort of petty sniping in previous posts with claims of "you can't post that unless your riding is perfect", (see also the definition of Ad Hominem Tu Quoque I posted elsewhere) .
If you see someone doing something criminally dangerous, of course, by all means draw it to the attention of the Police, but examples of bad driving are so commonplace, they're not worth getting worked up about, just make sure they don't endanger you.
