Windscreen vibration at 2.5K
« on: 21 July 2016, 01:59:34 pm »
The windscreen on the fairing of my fzs 600 2000 is making an annoying noise at 2.5K. Anything I can do about this?

I guess you mean a rattling noise. Try putting some soft thin rubber between where the screen and the fairing bolt together, you could even try using a layer of duck tape as it will creat surface that will reduce vibration when the wind is blasting at it at XXXmph

It's like low pitch drone between 2.5k and 3k.

If I hold the screen while revving it goes away.

like I say it sounds like vibration noise, try what I've suggested. The higher the revs the more the engine/exhaust noise will mask it thats probably why you're only hearing it between 2.5k and 3k, any thing lower than that is probably not enough to make it vibrate enough to make the noise.

Strips of soft sided Velcro will fix that as well.

A bit like the wife when she starts to drone, If I hold my tongue sometimes she goes away too.  :angel
