body shop south east
« on: 28 January 2016, 03:30:41 pm »
Hello all,

I've just been quoted £450 for front fender, the tank, the rear bit around the seat and the front nose of Yamaha FZS600 Foxeye. Cherry Red metallic no stripes or masking. The original is silver. That means more work probably? Or they can sand and prime over the old paint? I have no idea.

Is that ok as a price?

Can you recommend me any good body shop around Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, Berkshire, Surrey area, that can do that cheaper or I am asking too much?

Can recommend any but probably worth avoiding any that specialise in bikes. Give your car insurance company a call (claim line) and ask them who their approved repairers, ask a the local car dealers who they use or take a drive around your local industrial estates and have a look to find one.
Bumper plastic needs repairing and painting all the time so they shouldn't have a problem with it.

I'd be going round your local bodyshops and ask for a cash job!

Had this done for £350 inc having him take the parts to a sign writers and lacquering over the decals after

Not used them for a good few years but Plastec in Reading did some great work on my Fazer 1000. Can't remember the price, but they did it when they said they would and you really couldn't tell.

Cheers
