well what a day I just been diagnosed with it.,      they say they have caught it early,        hopefully   i will be okay operation in jan , to remove prostate,,     it  has  scared the shit out of me

Sorry to hear that Taylor.  what were the symptoms ? how did they diagnose it ? How old are you ? All the best for January. Like you say, diagnosing it early makes it very treatable so stay positive.

Seriously though a couple of years ago I got myself tested (blood test) at age 47 I didn't have any symptoms but it was because my Dad had this but was of a generation (WW2 veteran age ) that knew nothing about it or its symptems until it was too late for him--- we are talking about at least couple of years with the symptoms getting progressively worse until he was forced to get help. And as with lots of his generation wasnt big on going to the doctors either
It reminds me that it might just me time for me to book in for another test.

all it was dazza I had an itchy arse,       so I  googled it so many bad things came up I didn't read it   just went straight to doctor.    3 months later after loads of tests here I am,.       I have just turned 50,   fit as a fiddle still shoveling and humping 20 ton a day on building sites,   just got to think positive.

My Mums fella's in his early 70's and he also has prostate cancer, he also didn't visit his GP and the secondary cancer probably saved his life/ The secondary went to his hip and he fractured that when he had a small fall. Bloody stuburn bastard still wouldn't go the the docs until he could walk no longer, finally when he did they tested him for the big c and caught it, been three years now and still doing fine

Oh and the meds he's on have caused him to grow tit's. If yours develop could we have some pictures?

You've gotta be positive mate and with stories like joebloggs above where secondary has also kicked in can only make things more positive for you as you have got in there early.


I have a family member who just started chemo yesterday as they have left it later and it spread (wasnt prostate) and it us gutting that peopke have long term symptoms but do t get them checked out so well done to you for that.


Something to look up on ye olde google "benefits of olive leaf extract" i appreciate that homeopathy is controversial but give it a look and go through a few of the searches.......a healthy substance for anybody to take and even if it doesnt work then even the thought that it might is good for the mind.

A friend of mine got cancer rather young (25)  - they say it progresses faster when you're young - but managed to get rid of it. No problems for over 10 years now. It sucks, loosing hair and stuff, but it can be defeated.
