Ivan's jet kit

Hi guys

Is there any way I can tell if my bike has been fitted with the Ivan's kit without pulling the carbs off?

Be a bit silly to buy the kit if it's already got it fitted (I only wonder because the midrange is already very strong, so...)

Unfortunately I've not kept a record of reg numbers so not easy for me to say if I've done a specific bike.  However, if you remove the top from one of the carbs - #2 is easiest - you can check the needle and also see if the spring has been clipped.

If the needle says SD-129 or SD-130 around the top close to the e-clip grooves, it's stock.  If it's not a stock needle, it's probably Ivan's since one in seven of the UK Fazers ever sold have had his kits fitted to them. ;)

Thanks, Falcon - I'm getting the big 48k service done next month, so I'll ask the guy to have a look for me (he's a friend, so no worries) and go from there.

Been away for a while. Just buying '04 Fazer which amazingly hasn't been Ivanised. My original was done by Mike in 04. How do I get it done anew?

It's not hard to fit, just a bit scary the first time you do it, and time consuming. Getting carbs on and off is a real pain the first time you do it.

It depends on what else I have lined up in the 'Ivanising' department.  :)

The trouble with AIS removals and other non-Ivanising jobs is that they require more tools than I usually travel with.  Also, the potential for something to go awry - and thus screw up my schedules - is much greater.  I know precisely how long it takes to fit one of Ivan's kits but there are far more variables in tackling other things. 

Look out for the calling notice for my next visit and contact me then to see if I can work something into the programme for you. :)
