From what I have read here elsewhere, either EBC or Ferodo Platinum road seem to be popular.
I will be going for a full set of Ferodo later in the year.

I've always got on with ebc HH on my gen 1 Thou. Some say they're aggressive on the discs but to me it's always been more important to feel confident in the brakes than get 150,000 out of a pair of discs. I had Carbone Lorraine once  (can't remember the type though) and they scared me. Great when hot but if cold they had to heat up before doing anything (imagine cruising along the motorway and then finding the brakes feeling wooden for the first couple of seconds)

I prefer EBC organic. It is personal choice how do you like your brakes to work. Organic ones IMO have smoother softer action and I have better control. If I want to stop more I just squeeze the handle more. Sintered have outright hard stop action hence I do not like them.

It is your personal choice what do you want and how do you use your brakes.

Just to add a bit of variety, I've been using bendix MF pads on my fz1s, then my R1.
Superb when cold, they've never faded (unlike some others I've tried) and last for ages. They don't seem too bad in the disks either.
I recommended them to a friend who can totally outride me, and he's been using them ever since.

Just my 2p worth.

Had Galfer on the front for a while now, they hardly wear or touch the discs either, I'm very happy with them.

Got OEM on the rear at the mo as I bought a caliper, but I have a new set of SBS Ceramic when they wear out.

ferodo platinum  are good value and have good feel
once bedded in they bight like a crockadile

stay away from race pads you`ll never get them hot enuff to work properly

if your a steady eddy most options will be ok but stay away from cheap crap  (that`s what they are!)

ebc are good green compound if your a thrasher  :lol

As said by a few fella, it's really your choice depending on your riding style. You may want to do a search on here for "HEL braided lines discount". Add that to a fluid change and the options move again.

Me - EBC HH sintered up front and organic for a slightly gentler bite. All advice above is good.....apart from one you mentioned

DO NOT TOUCH THE GOLD FREN - TOTALLY SHITE.

Good luck with finding what suits you - progressive bite or shaper bite, depends how you ride and how many miles you do. Also the condition of your current discs may sway you away from sintered.

Just got a set of Kyoto for the rear as the material on one of the pads came off  :eek  ( 2nd set to do that) they were EBC not sure if organic or sintered but it's your choice what you use.

In that case fella, I'd go with the advice of Val's below. The pads are good and so is the price.

I prefer EBC organic. It is personal choice how do you like your brakes to work. Organic ones IMO have smoother softer action and I have better control. If I want to stop more I just squeeze the handle more. Sintered have outright hard stop action hence I do not like them.
