Clutch adjustment screw
« on: 28 June 2015, 02:04:18 pm »
Tried adjusting the clutch using the screw  in the sprocket cover.   Loosened the locknut right off but the screw won't turn either direction, I have even tried tapping the driver with a hammer in same way you would with impact driver but fear perseverance could end in rounding the crosshead.  Is there something I am missing or is it just a bad case of seized screw?

Plenty of WD40.

First loosen the handlebar end, at handlebar end, loosening is done by turning screw clockwise, while at the sprocket end, loosening is done by turning the screw counter clockwise.

You may wash the grease with WD40 so read that: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=downloads;sa=downfile&id=60

Cheers for reply Val, I had Loosened the lever end right off.  I can't open the link for some reason but I'll give the screw a dose of Wd40 see how that goes  ;)

You could also take the whole cover off to let you see it from the other side in case it's jammed with all the crud etc that's thrown off the chain and front sprocket :)
