I get 250km (155 miles) on my 03 foxeye, then reserve light comes up.

I guess something's wrong then?
I drive pretty hard though.
I wouldn't say anything is wrong, why do you think so?

Well everybody else gets 250 miles, I get 250km... that's 100 miles difference...
Eh? That doesn't figure as your using two different measurements :eek
250mi= 402.3360km

I guess I misunderstood something then  :wall

Are you sure your in kms? Your speedo might be showing kms but your odometer could be showing miles :) or vice versa, worth checking fella

Kms.
After 250 km of city driving, the light comes up.
Out of city driving I get around 300-350km tops.

Mine's a 98 so must be 18 litre. If I'm getting 150 miles to 11.5 litres I should easily be able to get another 50 miles before refuelling. I think I'll test it out at the weekend rather than on the motorway on my commute

Are you riding it or pushing it?  :lol

Heh! Steady cruise up the motorway at something approaching the speed limit. Although I'm not saying which side of the speed limit I'm approaching  :lol

I'm going home to Cornwall on mine Friday & going to try a different approach and fill it to the brim from petrol station 1/2 mile from work (Basingstoke) then see how close to Falmouth I get before the light comes on.

So 225 on 22 litres? You'll piss it, just have faith in your bike Rob

normally travel from Portsmouth to Basingstoke then get as far as services at Oakhampton on tad under 3/4 tank but to be honest need a leg stretch after the 3 hours!! lol

Commuting Fordingbridge to Portsmouth 45 miles each way I could always be sure to get 2 1/2 days from a full tank = 225 miles. On an 01. It certainly seems that anyone else I ride with is the first to stop for fuel.

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my 01 (Y) FZS I picked up a couple of weekends ago. I have a short commute of 6-7 miles each way which obviously won't help but the light comes on at 105 miles, however I can only squeeze maximum 11l back in, which based on this thread means I still have another 9 litres left?!

You should do.  Do you fill up when the light comes on? I normally do about 30 miles after light comes on and still only get 15 litres in.

My early experiences on an RS125 with a dodgy fuel gauge, therefore frequent embarrassing breakdowns, taught me to be religiously devout to obeying the mileometer! I got similar mileage from my GSX600F so am used to it and driving a modern diesel car, where the consequences are a bit worse if you run out, I struggle to ignore the light

Ok, so I did a little experiment...  basically I went for a ride.  218 miles later with a bit of bimbling and hooning.. the gauge has just dropped under the bottom line but the light has not come on... so I now know how far I can go.  :-)

well my arse gets numb after 100 ish miles if on a steady ride and if i`m on a mission dog fight or plain holligan then i`m pretty knackered after 100 miles or so
so all in all after 100 miles ish i need a break and to be honest most petrol stations have a toilet so makes sense to take a break take a wee-pooh have a drink and fill up
just my theory and seems to have worked for last few years

The needle can go surprisingly far below the empty mark but the light should come on long before that.  Is the bulb still working?  Do the low oil and low petrol lights both light up when you press the started button?

Did a tour of Scotland last year and was getting 220 miles before warning light came on.
Normally though I get around 180 miles or so, a bit less when ragging it.

yes, the bulbs work, but ive not run it this low in the year and half ive had it...  when i bought the bike the fuel light was on and i filled up , it will proberbly come on when I roll the 300 yard  down the hill to the petrol station ;)

I bottled it!! made it into Cornwall though!! my problem is that A30 from Exeter, once you get on it, it draws your speed up and fuel goes down!!
I managed 190+ miles though (and a painful 3hours 15 mins in one sitting!!)

I make about 160 miles on a tank riding more or less just city traffic (and a brief 'blast' at 80km/h) on my commute, pretty consistent and that's on my 99.
I don't exactly tootle around either.

I've very pleased. before i got the bike i read it was thirsty but it uses alot less fuel than any of my cars so winnaaah!

The fuel light on my '03 only comes on when the needle stops moving.

Only done one full tank on it so far, and have just got to 240 before the light came on.

I'd ridden about 10 miles on the light, then filled up and it only took 18.5 litres, although I could have forced more in by filling/waiting/filling.

In that case, he could be meaning
280kph = 174mph :lol

Originally, I was mearly commenting on what was quoted, not what I guessed what he was meaning :)
