It's quite amazing the amount of people that turn up with track only bikes these days!

Iv been and watched a few track days in the last year and I thought the same.
IF ..  I ever go on a track day I was just gonna go on my bike and buy some new tyres at end of day.
But seeing everyone turn up on track only bikes and looking like pro's made me re think! Lol

Nah, don't let it bother you, a lot of them are all the gear no idea - focused events do hold Road bike only days occasionally!

Girlfriend got me some heated grips.
Install was easy peasy, got some pretty neat wire routing going on (with all the plugs ending up just in front of the relay box or whatever it is under the tank).
Tried them today, great for this bitterly cold 12 degree Australian mornings!  :rollin
But no i did need them, hands got pretty hurty going 110km/h down the freeway to a site visit a few weeks ago! It wasn't 12 degrees that day and the wind chill is nasty!

Yep, even if it's just on a low setting.
Forget about this burst of warmth, most of the year is either wet or shitty.
Nowt wrong with a bit of luxury.  :)

Hey everyone, new member, new rider, and first time Fazer FZS600 (52 reg) owner as of about a week ago in London UK. Loving it so far!

I did all of my training and tests on a Fazer and loved it so much I decided it would be my first bike.

It's generally in mint condition, but a friend following me today mentioned that only half of the tail light was illuminating, so I went digging and found that one of the bulb holders was not seated and the bulb had smashed. I also managed to pop a fuse while playing around with that, so today I fixed that up. Nothing special but all important. :)

Otherwise I spent some time getting familiar with the various reservoir locations and fluid levels for my regular checks.

That to me would be like riding in winter with shorts on.
You don't know what you've been missing.  :lol

Took the two side led marker lights off and connected one under the nose cone, making that my side light as I also took out the standard side light and connected the led for that, not a lot, but least I was tinkering :lol

Didnt do it today did it yesterday but i did a lot to her.

I replaced the knackered rear brake caliper with a 1000 rear caliper i picked up off eBay in excellent condition put new pads in, got a new rear tyre on it and also shortened my exhaust myself as the end was dented and i hated it, plus i prefer a shorter exhaust anyway.

Thinking of changing the levers to gold as the bikes gold anyway and i need to find some of the 03 model mirrors as mine are battered and the 03 ones arms are longer which is better in my opinion.

You saw the pics from when i was playing around with putting a street triple headlight on i guess?
I've always had the fairing on for actual riding, and now after i've had the bike a while i've decided to keep it (and make it work with some clip ons...eventually)
Also i changed the oil, managed to not get oil on the exhausts, win! :)

Bought a 32mm flat-drive hex socket from the used tools stall at the local boot sale for £1. (sprocket nut).

(Tried to) give it a bit of a clean. Its obvious that I need some more tools and products to help with this. Ol' sponge and bucket that I use for my car not really cutting it. Too many nooks and crannies to get in to on a bike!  :lol

On this subject, what can people recommend for cleaning the engine: removing dust etc in hard to reach places, keeping it generally looking (and being) clean, degrease (??) etc?

Have heard of using ACF-50 during the colder months, I dont suppose this is worthwhile in other parts of the year?

Cheers!

Fitted the new back wheel I had to buy because I couldn't get the rear disc mounting bolts off the old one so I could replace the rather worn rear disc. I ended up snapping the little bastards off in the wheel despite the extensive use of penetrating oil and a heat gun. In the end I just couldn't be arsed to get them drilled out and helicoiled so I bought a new wheel which although not cheap is very shiny and sexy.  :'(

Today I changed the new uprated front sprocket nut and bendy washer thing. Being proactive inal, I've done it before the old one flys off. Phew. I can go fast again.
