Wobbly mirror
« on: 04 June 2015, 12:15:36 pm »
I should have left well alone!

Having asked and been told that the foxeye mirrors do fold in, I duely went and did so.  The problem is when I pushed it back it didn't centre where it was and is now as wobbly as a 30 year old transit gear stick.

Is there an easy fix for this, or will I have to replace the mirror?

The hinge is riveted and once bust is gone. You'll be able to peel back rubber and shove a new bolt through, but it'll probably loosen off in no time.

I picked up a cheap mirror off eBay a while back, with a loose ish hinge. Week later it fell off and low and behold the rivet had been replaced with a bolt. Got it refunded, didn't even want it back, reckon seller knew full well it was fooked!
