I've got an FCE fitted & I also have a brand new PC5 which I haven't fitted yet.

thing is I already have an intermittent starting problem doh!....so it will be a little while before I go fitting anything else until I establish what is at fault.

Have you tried it with a different PC map to see if it is a dodgy map causing it or have you tried completely disconnecting the PC5?

When I fitted my FCE my tickover was affected, it would still tickover but had dropped to 950 revs and was lumpy. I adjusted it with the adjuster ( ! ) to 1050 revs and it was fine, I think manufacturers set it to 1100 / 1200.

Thanks for the reply lads just got back home so will try in the morning
I thought you could only ajust the tickover on bikes with carbs, you learn new things all the time:-)

The warmed engine temperature idle is best at 1250 - 1300. Any less & you risk temperamental starting & a lumpy tickover.
The enriched idle for cold starts should be 1500 - 2000.

Sorted thanks
That was an easy fix although I could only get it to about 1100 rpm on the tachometer and the adjuster was spongey didn't want to push it invade I snapped it I soaked it with wd40 but that's as far as I can get

Yeah, there does not seem to be very much adjustment, I had my laptop hooked up to the bike through the Juicebox as it shows engine revs a lot more accurately, I would assume that you could the same with a pc5 or pc3.

What Dekf says about the idle speed is more than likely right , he has a lot of experience in tuning the gen2 , but I just found my tickover was ok at 1050 revs and at 1100 or more the bike just sounded as the tickover was set too high.
