Tyres???
« on: 11 February 2012, 09:14:08 pm »
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS600-Fazer-Maxxis-Sport-Touring-Tyres-PAIR-/170744649357?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item27c12c968d#ht_702wt_689

Are these any good?
My fazer is my toy and I'll use it as much as I can so a lot of it is around town so I don't always get heat in the tyres and the ones I've got now slip n spin quite a bit until they a warm then they stick like shit to a blanket but I  don't normally ride long enough.

So I need grip from the start and need to handle the corners well

Can anyone recommend anything to suit my needs????

Michelin road pilot 3 amazing tyres. Stick like sh@  to a blanket and last forever. Pricey to start with but you will get your money back in mileage.

I have michelin road pilot 2 tyres on mine and they grip the road like no other tyre i have had, i have had them on the bike for nearly 5 years and 12000 miles and they still have over half the tread and are not squared off like others i have had, will be buying more when they eventually give in which is not looking like any time soon.

I'm using pilot powers but have heard universal praise for the pilot 3's, particularly in the wet. The pilot powers are fine for £175 a pair, the rear wore out a bit quickly about 4k miles but the fronts still going and to be fair that did include a trackday at Cadwell where their grip still excedeed my bravery. On my second pair now this time with a 120 front and 3.5" wheel to match which is to be fitted soon. Will report back if its an improvement...
