Is my engine running to lean? OR?
« on: 12 May 2015, 01:49:08 pm »
Hi. I got a problem recently. When i am giving full trottle, it is just like the bike is holding the power a little back and if i turn the trottle a bit back from full trottle, i get a lot of power. The problem is mostly i 3-6 gear.
Is the engine running too lean and need adjustment, or is it something else?
I have only had my lovely Fazer for 4 month. The previous owner have changed the air filter to an high flow airfilter and a another exhaust.

Before i changed to a K&N air filter i had a Hi-Flo one fitted, and either it was faulty or just shit, but it seemed like the paper was too thick or something, it felt very restricted.
Personally i would change to a K&N anyway if you have a new exhaust, the bike will feel much more responsive with one fitted, and i reckon it'll solve your problem.

That is one clean and tidy garage :)
If you turn those speakers up to max do the sound waves blow the Fazer over? :lol

My guess would be u might need a carb balance and possibly a dynojet kit as u have altered the back pressure with an after market Can and a high flow filter ? I have a stubby exhaust on mine and it runs ok with the baffle in but not great with it out, haven't even fitted the kn filter yet as I'm guna wait until I get it balanced.

Firstly, it's unneccesary to rejet these bikes, i've tried and it simply didn't like it, so i had it put back to standard.

Secondly, balance the carbs after you fit a K&N, not before.
