New Bearings Required
« on: 28 April 2015, 05:48:13 am »
The triangular mount that connects the rear shock absorber to the dog bones requires new bearings. Where can I get hold of some new ones and are they fairly easy to fit? Thanks

There used to be a sticky for bearings, Mike had done a load of work with this firm: http://www.bikebearings.co.uk/

IIRC you have to get the bushes from Yamaha and they are the bit they wears the most. If you don't change them you will most likely end up with movement which can lead to an MOT fail.

Hi Sean

Tmation has covered it all. :)  Marc at bikebearings.co.uk should be able to advise on the needle roller bearings you need but the collars/spacers are Yamaha-only items.

Cheers!

Thanks to everyone who responded. I am going to take up Tex on his mind offer then maybe rebuild mine. I'll have a spare to help out somebody else. My bike has only covered 87,000 miles. They don't last long do they!!
