Yeah, stopped about 4 times but even if you split that down to 70 miles then stop, the butt was still sore :(

I recommend this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panthenol-Spray-130gr-D-Panthenol-4-36-Heal-Sunburns-Skin-Injury-of-All-Types-/111303336985

Seriously it works wonders on sunburns or long rides  :lol

It doesn't have gel insert

I am looking for a seat as well. Funny enough these guys do custom memory foam seats and claim the foam is better than gel  :D

And the cost is about £75 - seems ok to me. They do mail order too. I will try them next month

I like a woman with a tough butt, what were you thinking? :eek
Get out more often, it will toughen up you butt, you big wuss  :lol or get a seat from the 00-03 models, they have more foam than the 98-99 models.
The seat was changed in 00 and the passenger footrest hangers were lengthened and used rubbers on the footrests for more comfort
Fitting the newer model hangers will not affect the exhaust even though they are longer, but it will give a more comfortable ride for the passenger.

I use the bike nearly every day, I know about the newer seats, already got the lower hangers, I hear the foam is still as bad on those models, so don't know if that would do the job I'm looking for. Plus there's something satisfying about doing something myself rather than just buying a different seat and puting it on, probably that's being Scottish ;)
I already have recovered the seat, see my previous pics/posts, so I know it's doable, just a matter of either triming the foam now to make it neater, although, I think it's ok at the moment or getting memory foam and trying that before I make a final decision. :)

I find the 03 600 seat fine as does my wife, we have done a lot of long journeys touring on the 600 without problems.
Including a trip from Pembroke to Dover, Pembroke to Plymouth and Southampton to Pembroke.
Santander to Biarritz and many others.
A decent shock helps.

I'm not disputing the seat, loads of factors come into how you feel on a bike, rear shock as you say, carbs balanced, tyres, the foccin list is endless. It is a budget bike, where loads of people forget, and then throw loads of money at it and I'm not knocking that, I'm just not for throwing loads at it, will try a few things but if it gets to a certain stage, I'll just sell it and get another bike, it was just a bike to get me back into biking after a few years off, and really couldn't miss the chance :)
