Shiny weekend
« on: 18 April 2015, 07:50:45 pm »
What is it with shiny weekenders?

Went for a fairly normal ride to devils bridge this afternoon, and suprise, suprise it was packed.

The ride back home was full of homeward bound riders from all genres of biking. We were doing a fair lick along some nice sweepers, and ended up behind a row of 3-5 cars with solid white lines on the road. From round behind us came a KTM of some description, hammering it right up to my back wheel, and trying to bully me over to give him room. He then crossed over the solid whites and nailed it past everything and round a blind bend!!!!!! This was closely followed by another bike doing the same thing!!!!

I thought this was a one off, until a cb1300 did the same type of manoeuvre over solid whites round a bend about 10 miles further down the road, and nearly piled into the front of a car he cut up!!!!
And then he blasted through a set of 30's at nearly twice the limit!!!!

Who the Hell do these Frigging weekend idiots think they are???? They just give us decent bikers a bad name!!!

I usually try to ride at my own pace which I admit might be slow but I'm happy to just let others get on with it. I do however sometimes wonder how much they rely on luck rather than ability and good judgement.  Maybe it's an age thing.
