Bike failure
« on: 20 March 2015, 08:01:06 am »
Hi all, wondering if anyone can give a steer on a problem that my local mechanic is having difficulty working out.

In the past week / 10 day the bike was stuttering intermittently, to a point that it stopped a couple of times. (If it wasn't fuel injected, you might thing it was dirty petrol or the carburettor). Though there's no consistancy to the issue. So I dropped the bike into the mechanic an left it. He started it and it appeared fine (day1) but then the next day it started, made a 'bad' noise and basically he hasn't been able to start the bike since, though its sorted of trying to turn over.!

Bike is 2006, 45,000 kms and mainly used as a commuter bike. Even after the problem started, the engine started fine so appears not to be electrical or power, and there is fuel in the tank.

Can anyone give any direction....?

Ray

Clogged injectors, or knackered pump, perhaps?

Change the fuel filter, and the mechanic :)
