what is this?
« on: 19 November 2014, 04:23:31 pm »
This dates from around WW2, do you know what it is called and what it was used for?
It looks to be able to read the code on the tape it's not magnetic so maybe uses light, it also has a valve amp. built in but I don't know if it's a radio as well. any ideas?
Ive messaged someone who has bought an astrograph of me so until  he gets back to me it's down to you lot. I dont think its an early type of sat nav?

It probably isn't this, but it looks like a tape reader from some of our old cnc machines. Basically a hard copy of the program on the machine. Interested to hear what it actually is :)

It looks like an Instructograph, a device for training people in Morse code  :)

Gen 1 Fazer does not need anything other than a good rider to go fast. :D

Now the Gen2 is another story altogether, it needs an Instructograph  :rollin

It looks like UNFAZED is on the right track, my late father would have used one, he was in the royal signals, this is him in India in 1940, hes on the 2nd table with his head in his hands, he didn't get back home for another 5 years.

Mick Jagger has one of these. I remember when we worked on the film Enigma and he supplied the machine.  :)
