2005 FZS 1000S Overhaul
« on: 27 September 2014, 05:48:08 pm »
Hi! I'm new to this FOC-U site and have a FZS 1000 2005. I've had it for 5 years and the last couple of years let it go a bit.  :'(

Wheels need sorting as the paint is flaking Ditto the swing arm - Looking for a decent powder coat job for this lot in the North East of England.

Chain and sprx need changing - Anybody got any recommendations? -

Where is the best place to get wheel bearings etc?

Rear shock isn't that hot, so was looking for a replacement - Anyone tried a Hagon?

Brake pads (all) and rear disk need replacing so would be good to hear of others recommendations.

Ta.

Romax in Stockton are superb for powder coating, any bearing factor can supply wheel bearings...or a Yamaha dealer at greater expense.

P.S. there's also several sets of bearings on e-Bay

R6 shock conversion is a well recommended way of upgrading the rear shock, transformed the handling of my gen1 when I did it.Just search for R6 shock thread on here.
