Rear hugger clearance
« on: 09 September 2014, 10:25:29 am »
Hi everyone.
Just bought a rear hugger for my fazer. Ive trial fitted it and the clearance between the rear of the mudguard section and the wheel is only about 6mm. Is this an acceptable gap or do I need to increase it?

Thanks.

Sounds fine, it will move with the wheel so that distance won't change and be an issue.

Just check it doesn't easily flex onto the tyre.

If you're worried no problem to adjust higher with some washers or something.

Was thinking of spacing it a little more just in case it flexes too much.
Although I'm not sure I like the look of the hugger on a fazer. Maybe because it's still gel coat white.

The closest distance on my bike is the top of the tyre and the end of the arch on the hugger. About 10mm. But it was originally 5mm and as suggested above, I used plastic washers -  5mm - each size . for a bag of assorted sizes from b&q for £2.99

Think I'll space it up a little once the paint has dried. Tempted to trim the hugger part too as it looks a little too long and out of place.
