Fazer Non Standard Colour Schemes
« on: 15 July 2014, 09:10:15 pm »
Anyone got any inspired colour schemes for a Fazer? Pics?

Mines Silver, VERY clean nice bike (its why I bought it) but fancy something a bit more unique, any ideas?

Im not suggesting this guy got this right but...  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271543412818?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Im thinking something in Red (match my leathers!) Anyone any pics?

Here's mine:

It doesn't show very well in this photo, but the speed blocks are carbon effect.
Very like the colour scheme Yamaha did on the XJR SPs - they also did that in red and black, which I always thought looks good.

I did the white speedblocks for Nooj a few years ago. the base was pearl white, the black was scotch-lite reflective vinyl and the red was red foil vinyl...... It glowed!

My 2003 FZS 1000 in Pearl (Polar Bear) White.

It's a complete second set of bodywork .. all put back to standard Silver before sale.

As said, the speed blocks are very iconic.

Here's two colour schemes that I did on some RD's I had. The mellow yellow was originally silver and the red and white one is a copy of the earlier TZ Yamahas.

I wouldn't say that the colourways and design are going to give you anything unique.

The Roberts style flat tracker does look neat though. As does Nicks bike, and to some extent Gassitt's. I will say that, from experience, that particular attention need to be paid to designs that flow across all bike panels as lines need to flow and be balanced. I've seen some awful renditions of the speed block design that just don't work.

Really like this.

Awesome pics.

GASSIT, that's really nice. How was it done? Decals on paintwork?

KOSMIC, nice collection! I grew up on GT250's RD... alsorts, XS750 when they 1st came out (78) Z650, GS1000's etc, love the iconic paint.

100% paint .   Paint lines masked up with the panels on the bike to make sure the lines followed the same angle across the panels

now there is no silver on the bike at all apart from pipe and fork stanchions, everything is powder coated black and along with King Kennys signature on the tailpiece it really sets off the classic speedblock
