Standard -
dipped beam = LHS only (as sitting on bike)
Full beam = LHS dipped, RHS full beam.

Wiring modified -
dipped beam = LHS & RHS dipped
Full beam = LHS dipped, RHS full beam.

Only that the mod dipped looks brighter does it not as it is pointing more forward as apposed to pointing to the left kerb

Is that right--------- mine looks brighter anyway

not sure about that, i would say it looks brighter because the reflector isnt as fugged as the left :D

On mine I found (with the mod) that the "right dip" pattern is more up on the right side and flattened on the left. i.e. opposite to what it should be for driving on the left according to beam pattern requirements. I've never had cars flashing at me because of being dazzeled, but that might be because the lights are pretty weak anyway. When banked over a bit for left hand bends it makes the right side of the beam even higher. The mod does make a useful difference but I'll probably disconnect it for the M.O.T. just to be safe. I fitted a fuse so it's easily disconnected.

Yep me too -- years ago the mod recomended that you fit an in-line fuse for quick removal a nd back to factory spec for the mot beam pattern, which I have on mine but the tester just looks to se if my lights work, I have looked today  and I still have the origional bulbs and one has a sort of a metal cap over it meaning that when I look at the light it bounces off two sides of the internal reflector wheras the other bulb has no cap and only reflects off one side of ITS reflector and so is not as bright to the eye.
