Moto Gymkhana anyone

Fazers are a popular Moto Gymkhana choice, anybody fancy having a go. I'm using an FZ6 but think the earlier carb bike might have been a better choice.

Seems like a cheap day out, I've been interested for a while but my bike has shite turning circle as it's set up for track!

Nearest I've done to that is when I took the Kwak turbo around the training centre's course a couple of weeks after passing my test - did I detect some rumblings of jealousy that time?  :D

Now, I'd just have trouble remembering the right sequence to do it all in  :lol

Liam, that's not really fair - I don't use Christo to laugh at - he just scares the shit out of me  :eek

I've done this twice at Kempton Park.

Somewhere around there's a few posts from me about it, but the short version is it's a lot of fun, but you do learn how much you've still got to learn about bike control!

Right, so what I'll do is make sure that any events that MotoGymkhana are running are posted on here. There are a few  regional clubs, the strongest being the East Midlands. As well as the competition days there are Experience Days where you get a short go to see if you like it, this is what Graham has done. However the clubs are also planning to run 'practice and play' days where club members can spend the whole day just practicing different types of course and obstacles. As I understand it non members can pay to become a temporary member for the day so can join in.  I'll check exactly what the situation is and post it all on here when events come up.
I'm new to it this year  on my FZ6 and in the first 2 rounds of the championship I have managed an 8th and a 5th, finishing 3rd novice and first novice too.  Unless you've given it a go you won't know what you're missing. Even though you don't get out of first gear it's real adrenaline fuelled stuff. After my first timed competition run my hands were shaking from the buzz. I can even practice in my local Dobbies car park at nights, can't do that for track days.

The nearest I got to doing this was a courier in London. Everyday was Gymkhana day. I'd be up to going and watching, I don't think I'd be any good on my Thou'
