IXIL Exhausts....
« on: 10 June 2014, 10:26:27 am »
When I get a new bike I usually tear off the big bulbous manufacturer's can and replace it with a nice oval with twin-ports from the likes of BlueFlame. But this time I spotted these gorgeous Ixil exhausts and took a chance on them. They are stainless-steel with removable baffles and sound AMAZING as standard! They were a perfect fit and I especially like how the slash-cut matches the lines of the swing-arm.

Well pleased!

if the header outlet on the fz1 is the same as the gen 2 then its only a matter of making a bracket to the rear peg mount

outlet diam of gen 1 is 60mm and the gen 2 is 61mm (i am reliably told) so i guess if you manufacture and appropriate hanger baracket they could work or go for the more expensive option

They look sweet, cant believe they are quiet enough, doesn't look like enough silencer.

With the baffles in, it sounds pretty damned loud to me! Without them, it's just ridiculous :-)  There's lots of popping and banging on the overrun which makes for fun times in little villages :evil   The only thing that worries me, is whether or not it will pass a sound-check on a track-day.

you mean sidewinder is quiet or ixil? I am thinking about new exhaust on my fazer 1000 and debating between mivv gp or maybe this sidewinder? i don;t want too quiet but bearable when touring as well!
