Recommend a Helmet
« on: 18 May 2014, 10:02:15 pm »
Looking for something sub £100 as a lid for daughter that goes out two or three times a year.
I know all the arguments of getting what you pay for and the value of your head etc etc but wonder about something like HJC CS14 at around £75....not sure about ratchet fasteners..always liked double d straps.
Any thoughts guys?

I bought a red Nitro lid about a year ago just for passengers to use, very good value for money, half decent looking and built in sun visor.

dickturpin,

I have had a few helmets with the ratchet strap (and I had a fairly big off with a helmet with one!), they are fine mate, honestly.

I've also got a HJC IS-16, and it's double D ring.

I think they've now brought out the IS-17, so the earlier one should be an even bigger bargain

If it was my daughter then I wouldn't baulk at the HJC helmet - decent lid at a decent price. As said earlier, the Micro Buckle is nothing to worry about - it's all about the fit as you know  :thumbup
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
