Did you get yours done at Goffs Oak, nr Cheshunt. If so, do you have the address or a mobile number for Mike? Or does any of the other folk on here have contact details for him? I am going there tomorrow and can find every e mail except the one with the address details in it. 


Worse way, Mike has my number so I will just head to Goffs Oak and hope he calls me but it would be less embarrassing to arrive under my own steam.

mine was 'mikeanised' in ferndown. many thanks for doing the work mike, appreciated.


i wasn't sure what to expect, but it's not a night and day difference. the character of my particular engine has changed however. it feels more 'sorted' almost like there's a link (like an ecu module)  between twist grip and rear tyre that's been removed. there's no fuss, just clean drive.


the truth is that this work should never have been necessary. it wouldn't have been difficult for yamaha to have these bikes leaving the factory doors like this, we can thank the bureaucrats for forcing manufacturers to produce less than top efficiency designs.

Having spent the last weekend "testing" my newly Ivanised bike, I can definitely say that Mike's installation has transformed the bike's rideability, even before my race can is fitted to get the real Full Monty. Put simply - no more low rev "stumbling" and throttle = drive (what you turn at the throttle, you get at the rear wheel). The response is much improved, although Mike did discover that my No4 plug cap wasn't quite on properly.
On the run up to the TT, I've had new T30's to replace the original ME4's (FFS, Yamaha! - WHY?) and had the yokes dropped 10mm (I'd asked for 14mm, but my tyre/suspension fitter was a bit nervous about this). The bike handles soooooooooo much better now, but frankly, I don't know how much of this is due to good tyres and how much is the yokes. 

My GSXR1000 mate following me through the twisties said - "Wow, you've got used to that bike real quick!" but I explained I was still scrubbing the tyres in

My Leo Vinci Race can is now on and the R6 shock I've had waiting for 3 months will be going on this weekend, with a shakedown run around Wales on Monday. Hopefully I can try out the full 8k+ benefits of the full Monty once the can is fitted, because I've only had enough road to try it a couple of times (jeeeeessssssussssss fecking h chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist).  Roll on the TT.

The day with Mike was also good for meeting fellow Mutha-Foccers Paul and Alan - both nice guys with good taste in bikes and a pleasure to brew up for thanks for the bagster thing, Alan, and of course, Mike - thank you so much for sharing your experience.

I was going to get the bike dyno-ed the next day, but frankly after a long week in the garage, ensuring all my other "projects" (ahem) were actually on two wheels, so I could wheel them out on Friday, I needed a lie-in. I WILL be getting it dynoed soon and will post up the results - however I will say that dynos don't always tell the full story. Frankly, I find "driveability" more important than the top end power, but it's always nice to have it there, ready, isn't it?

I am so much happier with the bike, which I bought as a long term keeper....looking forward to many more miles...I can't see me EVER selling this bike. Thanks again, Mike.

Have got mine dropped by 25mm, no issues at all. Have had them dropped by 30mm, still no issues. Tell your fitter to stop being a pussy.
