Seat gel pads
« on: 11 May 2014, 03:37:57 pm »
Has anyone tried out any kind of seat padding for long journeys? Got back from the Welsh national rally and saw various extra padding ranging from what looked like a sheet bungeed on to gel/air pads, did a lot of miles and it was getting uncomfortable by the end. I'm heading on a long French trip in July and thought about some extra padding.

Any thoughts?

I know it sounds odd ................... but a sheepskin cover for the saddle makes an enormous difference. Used one on a trip to Czech last year on my Fazer and hardly ached at all. The fleece holds pockets of air between your arse and the saddle and acts as a cushion.
Expect to get a few comments tho ........
Bought mine from a bloke in Devon who makes them to your saddle size.

I second the sheepskin cover. Aesthetically suspect but defo does the job!
