Well there will be two 500cc twin cylinder Diesel engines going cheap........
Could you shoehorn one of those into a Fazer frame?

Why? that would be like dating Liv Tyler and transplanting Jo Brand's arse onto her

I was more thinking because you have many Fazer frames there already.

How about doing it to that Z550, and leave the paintwork as standard?  :b

The z550 chassis has now been put for sale, as the wifes trike is all but finished

Laura has a Z400J trike that had shite bodywork, a tired engine, and rotten exhausts. Then a mate offered me a z550 that had a cheesy birds nest for a wiring loom but had a good engine and reasonable bodywork and pipe, So the 400 and the 550 are the same bike so the 550 was purchased for transplant purposes.

It was then I found that while the 400 enjoyed a relatively modern CDI unit to make with the sparky bits the 550 had something from the neolithic period called points & condensors. The last time I did anything with points was well over 10 years ago so a new loom has had to made for the trike, So much for a simple transplant job!

Deeefer,

Are those tyres wide enough and soft enough to cope with putting the power down?

Or are you going to pimp it up with wider wheels and low profile tyres?

A nitrous kit would be awesome!

Its probably gonna shred the tyres but it'll be fun, I am looking at replacement hubs atm as the brakes on the Aixam are tiny

Shurely a thou engine would be better choice?  Like the hyabusa powered smartcar and ninja powered suzuki carry / bedford rascal.
Great project though :)

Yeah but I haven't got an abundance of Thou engines, What I have is plenty of 600s, and then if this one works the next one will be FJ1200

it was discussed that we use a 600 in the front for "pottering" about, and the FJ lump in the back when I wanted some insanity. This idea was dropped on the weight issue of carrying two engines

I love how you decide that the idea is flawed based on weight rather than fuel consumption, power, the ability for the chassis to take it etc... Give that man a cigar!  :lol :lol

So the GVW is 380Kg of which the redundant engine is 53Kg and the gearbox and drive pulleys are another 32Kg. so that's 295 kg before the addition of a FZS engine and donor diff..... I think I may have to fit wheelie bars
