Gents...
I have a Micron can on my bike and have found one of the wire lugs that the retaining spring hooks into has nearly worn through. I have new springs to go on but fear they will now cut through the metal eye. How can I strengthen it?

A blob of weld? some very thin tube split then crimped over or make some out of flat sheet metal doesn't have to be strong you can replace it if it wears?
