Selling FZ1 2008
« on: 21 April 2014, 09:24:36 am »
I am looking at selling but cant be bothered taking all the bits off i have put on over the years, the main reason being i know longer have a garage and store the bike which isn't getting out and being used, anyway here is the details as i can best remember, testing the water see if i am pitching at the right price

Thoughts

FZ1 2008

28000 miles on the clock
Feb 2015 MOT & Tax
full front to back service incl new brake pads & fork oil / seals changed in Feb less than 100 miles since
valves checked at 25000 miles
oil & filter every 3000 miles
Renthal chain & Sprocket 1000 miles ago
new RP3`s less than a 1500 miles on them did a couple of laps round the ring
side facing tyre valves (probably cheapest but best mod on the bike)
Gel seat
wavey discs front & back
braided hoses
AGV leavers
touring screen with adjustable wind deflector
charger for phone etc
belly pan (the best one)
pillion seat cowel (the best one)
Akrapovic exhaust
Ivans fuel jet fitted
Nitron rear shock
heated grips
gear indicator
intergated rear light cluster
tail tidy
R&G crash bungs
R&G chain guard
R&G radiator cover
Gilles rearsets
carbon tank insert
carbon radiator sides
TomTom European sat nav fitted
all the standard bits from above replaced

£3500

The book price is £4000 for a standard bike with average mileage , so with all the extras I would say its a bargain , if your not in a rush to sell it put the price up .

Thanks for the replies i absolutely love the bike its the best bike i have ever owned i have toured Europe, had great weekend scratch with the lads, track days, even days out following supermotos over the passes it will do it all.

i have had it a good few years bought it off a mate who is absolutely particular real perfectionist they did most of the miles i put most of the mods on, lost track of what they sell for you see stuff on auto trader & Ebay but never sure if it sells

having moved into an apartment last year the bike is stored at a mates garage which is now a pain i wanted to take it out this weekend but i am getting him up at 9am bank holiday then asking what time he`s home to bring it back, its just not practical unless i can find somewhere at the right price to store then its going to have to go.

It's just a really sad state of affairs when a biker can only own a bike dependant on where he lives...I've had the same problem and when i move soon will only live in a place with garden/access or off road parking. Really feel for ya but there must be another way round it. A neighbour/friend with a garden perhaps ?  Another biker nearby with a garage so u can drop him a few quid?

I could be interested Chris.

Thing is i discounted the fz1 for some newer stuff.

But im looking at £7k bikes which i cant quite afford.

For half the money i can have a nice fz1 and at that price any slight niggles about comfort or whatever kinda take a back seat.

& the bits & bobs are the icing on the cake.

I am just kinda wondering to myself how much money id want to spend to get all the must have mods such as engine software......im guessing another £500 which still equals a decent price.

I can see i have allot of thinking to do today

Where abouts are you based please????

Why do u have to mod it straight away?.... I was gonna go that way with r6 shock/r1 front and full monty but I jumped from a 600 to a 1000 and that was seriously enuff. U can learn to ride it as it is (and it'll take awhile) then mod it and its like u got a new bike again. Ur in no rush mate. Take it easy.i will eventually do those mods but it's such a fast bike already that I'll take my time because i gonna keep the bike. Somethin to think about.....

THIS. If it came to it I would either be putting a shed in my front garden for it, or trying to buy a bit of land from the council to put a shed on nearby.

Very nice bike though, looks quite like Dek's and I liked his too. Im sure it wont hang around for long at that price (so get the finger out noggy and buy the thing! :lol).

OMG!!!!SERIOUSLY?!!!!! ANOTHER RED FZ1 FOR SALE?!!!!!!  :rollin

Nice bike Chris, think that'll sell easily enough - even easier if I had the spare cash - but then I'd buy loads of bikes if I had the spare cash. Noggy won't buy it though. Noggy'll never get his act together enough to buy anything - unless his neighbour has a C90 in the shed.....but then that'll be blue or red. RED?!!!! OMG!!!!!!  :b

yep it handles on the track in the right hands it would be every bit as good as 90% of the sports bike you see only been a few times Oulton & Cadwell plus a few laps of the Ring

Well. Is the noggy soap opera finally over?
Ifso & I think it may be, then congrats on a great purchase. You'll find it a big leap forward from the 6, endless power, excellent handling & with a real presence. So don't bother taking it easy, thrash the fukker, otherwise why bother buying it, it ain't a Harley  ;)
