Yes, it went into the shadow of the earth.

The moon will be doing the same later (unfortunately after it's set from the UK's point of view, those in the Americas will get the show this time).

Yup I saw it. Popped outside at 21:02. Shot across the sky and was out of sight five minutes later.

I gave em a wave, hope they saw me.

Dorset Safety Camera team wanted to give a ticket for speeding. Guess it has to go that fast to keep up momentum to stop it falling out of the sky?

Me the Mrs and my Little-un where out satellite and space station gazing tonight. We spotted four satellites and one space station. My daughter asked why there were so many satellites in the sky... Mostly for communication but I also explained about all the space junk out there as well and showed her this before she went to bed.

It's only a 15 second exposure, hence the short track... and I wasn't that confident of my aim, hence the wide angle.

45 minutes later there was an Iridium flare which I shot from the satellite platform you can see in the above photo.
It only lasts a few seconds and I had a two second delay on the camera to stop wobble so missed the start, but they're impressively bright if you're close to the centre of the track.

Great pics. I tried with the 1st pass of the ISS last night, but realised it was a star as it wasn't moving, missed the ISS completely.

Dunno how anyone saw yesterday's early pass, the sky was still very bright. The later one was better, but I totally cocked up the photo and while struggling with that, missed the Iridium flare that happened at the same time.

I think that was Venus or Jupiter, I spent a good couple of minutes looking at it too!
