strange noise

on my way home from work today could hear a sort of ticking coming from the front end i think.is not all the time seems to come and go but only when im on the move?any ideas.or maybe its just me going crazy

Going crazy  ?..........lift the front wheel and spin by hand to see if you can hear it..stone in the tyre tread ?....one of the ht leads arcing out....

Is it whenever the engine is running (coast down a hill with the killswitch off!  ), the wheel is turning, or just above a certain speed? My front end made a bizarre noise that was eventually traced to a very dry speedo drive. A big lump o' grease sorted it out!
