By your command !
I like the white wheel stripes on the all black one as they go with the white stripe around the grey decals, not needed with grey wheels tho

Noggy, suspension wise, after the initial feeling bumpy, probably due to the bike being lighter and not set up for me, I got on ok with it. It was powering out of bends quiet nicely.
Peter, Yes in std and A modes you could make it snatchy by being quick winding the throttle, but in B mode it was much like the FZ1, very rideable.

There is certainly no lack of power in normal road riding and being lighter than an R6 with that nice upright riding position I feel a good rider would be VERY quick on an MT-09.  (not me I hasten to add :) )

I'm starting to like the Kenny Roberts white one now, I wonder how well they are painted, do you think there will be paint issues later on?

Cheers locksmith

If you were impressed then i'm pretty sure id be ecstatic.......such competition though i really like those Z800's.

& those fancy paint schemes are the icing on the cake. 8)

I haven't been riding bikes that long but i've always been into them, since before i was a a teenager......or was that just the backstreet heroes babes :b ........anyway it seems that bike paint is like the economy......every 10 years we go through a peak & then a trough........bland or stealthy or discreet or conservative........to in yur face, woohoo, look at me, crazyness........& all the while something in between.

Bike design has become too boring & samey but utilitarian......& easy & quick paint is the norm......but now all of a sudden there is the glimmer of a resurgence.....bikes are getting fun again & the style is taking a front seat....because the average sunday rider punter wants that....work their arse off all week, stressed out their nut & then lose themselves in an attack of the senses day out....so what if you gotta stop to fuel up after 100 miles....you'll bloody want to anyway just to gloat to your mates about how much they focced up that last corner...& have a bacon butty....& if you can admire some crazy good paintwork while eating that butty then all the better i reckon.

So im guessing now but those paint schemes are yamaha endorsed i thought they said...so surely they are of good quality...if the sprayer has got a contract with a leading jap uk company then you'd think they'd want to get a good reputation...because it could hit off & become mainstream.

But perhaps it's yamaha putting the feelers out & if nobody pays the extra for these trick paint versions then they'll never make it mainstream.....i reckon they'll be a hit.

Aaaaaggggghhhh, I put a deposit down on one  :eek

May soon be a gen2 for sale!

Edit:  meant to add, went for a std colour, deep armor to be exact (the one that looks black in the flesh but bright purple on the yammie site!) and a load of goodies on it as well :)

This is a pic I found, I've got to wait a month. It's the best pic I found to show the colour as on the yammie site it's bright purple. In the flesh it looks blackish and turns dark purply in the sunlight !

Having a few bits added like billet levers, chainguard, rad ends and rear seat cover thingie.

I personally like the gold forks. Would look even nicer with some gold wheels to set it off a treat  :b

If the whole lot was gold it would still look tacky, but at least not out of place...

Out of interest Lock , have u ever ridden a street triple ( base or R )..similar engine, great handling ...as a comparison ??

me I aint excited about the MT styling , but the bigger engine( than a 675) sounds like its got some torque. A 1050 will out power it for sure, but an 800 should be more flickable...hence in the world of naked roadsters...MT could be the ideal mix ??  8)

I reckon this black one you have bought  looks less supermoto than the trick paint jobs, which would suit me more.

Never tried the triumph, purely because when I look at one it doesn't flick a switch with me.

Don't know why, but I'm a Yamaha man!

I thought the gen2 was flickable like an early Fazer 600 until I rode the MT and realised it was more agile than the FZ1 but felt as powerful. It's no 150mph machine like the gen2 but how often do you do that?

And it's a bit more upright than the gen2 which is good for my aging back:lol

Time will tell and a couple of Sunday morning blast's will either confirm my initial feelings or leave me feeling stupid!  :o
