It doesn't look like Sunday will be good for it at the moment. So I might head home first thing Sunday morning if the forecast doesn't improve. Thought it would be too much to hope for decent weather for the whole bank holiday - possibly illegal? Or against the laws of physics even?  :rolleyes

Well, had a good couple of days back in Wales AGAIN  :rolleyes
Did have a couple of moments: nearly running out of fuel along the road from Bala to Trawsfynydd - half way along and getting towards dinner time, looked down and, oh shit! Slowed down, praying I'd find a petrol station soon (middle of nowhere and a bank holiday?  :eek  ) Got lucky, as a little place was open at Traws.

Coming back along the sublime A470, suddenly, sirens and blue flashing lights behind me - checked mirrors - oh shit, bike copper. Indicated in, he flashed past, and past the car I'd been following at between 60-70 for the last few miles; bet he was just having a bit of fun as that road is blinding. Thought of chasing him....er, maybe not  :lol

So, getting late on the way home yesterday, turned onto the A40 to find the road blocked - a bad accident, didn't get close enough to see what had happened, but emergency vehicles up the yin yang, air ambulance attending. Copper drives back to queue of held up traffic - you won't be getting through here anytime soon, he says. So a backtrack, cross the Usk, tiny little country road, barely even single track - wonder if I'm lost?  :rolleyes  Sun right in my eyes, but can't open the visor for a clearer view as too many flies - just got a face full every time I tried. Finally got back onto A40 on other side of accident, and home.

So, a few pics, and what a bugger it's been trying to get these to load  :pc    :wall

Don't those views & roads make your heart sing, Nick? Wales was created for bikes! :lol

On days like Fri & Sat Dave, with the sunshine, there's no place I'd rather be. There was a bit of BH traffic in the usual places, Betws, Llanberis etc, but plenty of roads that were empty too. Getting to know my way around rather well!

Foc I hope not!!!!   :'(

I was very careful, but you know what it's like  ;)

Oh, and nothing unpleasant waiting on the A494 Corwen/Bala road on Saturday - after Fizzy's post of that BBC article, I was expecting hundreds of scameras, coppers jumping out from behind every lamp post - nada. Quite disappointed in a way  :lol

Stayed in Pen y bont campsite near Bala Friday night , temperature plummeted in the night down to zero , woke up freezing , we got in the cage at 6.45am to warm up , I thought the duvet would keep us warm , anyone recommend a good double sleeping bag .

Nice one esetest - yeah, was ice on the inside of my tent in the early hours Sat morning (camped at Cae Du, Beddgelert). I pulled on thermal long johns and a down filled shirt in the sleeping bag and was then snug as a bug - used a silk bag liner too.
Down sleeping bags are better than synthetic, warmer weight-for-weight. Unfortunately, bloody expensive too, but worth it if you do a lot of camping. But you must keep them dry!

That last photo is the viewpoint in Nantgwynant - know it well and was there myself Fri evening and then again Sat morning - wonder if we passed eachother?  :lol  Crib Goch on the right, Snowdon on it's left, just peeking over the top.

We left Snowdonia mountain railway , at 10.45am , I put directions to Bristol via Brecon , so from Snowdonia , sat nav took us toward Harlech , I did see a yellow and black fazer but I think that was further down the A470 . The third photo was view from a B road off the A470 , tricky road with lots of twisties , had to take avoiding action to miss a guy riding a bmw as he came round a blind bend on our side of the road .

I always used to use two quilts one on top one to lay on.  Such luxury :)
